55 Chevy lowrider

This model was built as a tribute to a young lady, who lost her battle with leukemia on May 6, 2005. For the last few years, several members of a Yahoo group, I belong to, have built models in her honor. Her favorite color was purple, so the main color of our builds is purple.

This is the starting point

Shaved door handles and frenched antennas

Shaved deck lid

Hood "depeaked", hood bird removed & filled

If you look hard, you can see where I ground down the frame to mount the front of the spring lower. The blobs are "earthquake putty" to hold the pieces in place while mocking up the suspension.

Finished Shots

It's not my best but it's not my worst. The paint is mix of pearl powders mixed into clear, shot over flat white. The bumpers are done, with Alclad chrome. It's the first time I have used it & the results are not what I had hoped for. I will keep trying.
