Revell 62 Corvette

May 2017

A lot has gone on since the 55 Chevy was finished. I worked on a couple projects, remodeld our house, put my hobby room into storage, bought a house, sold a house, retired, & moved. That's a lot, right? After all that, I had to get all my hobby room stuff out of storage & put together a new hobby room. Three years later, my 1st finished build, a Revell 62 Corvette

This model was built as a tribute to a young lady, who lost her battle with leukemia on May 6, 2005. For the last few years, several members of a Yahoo group, I belong to, have built models in her honor. Her favorite color was purple, so the main color of our builds is purple.

This build is pretty much out of the box, with just a wheel & tire swap, plug wires, & fuel lines.

Assembled interior. Semi-gloss black with black flocking for carpet.

Kit supplied small block with tunnel ram out of an AMT 66 Nova. I think the headers are from an early 90's Corvette.

Assembled chassis.

Finished body.

Tail end.

Great Revell insrument decals.

A look at the finished engine compartment. Note the "bluetooth" alternator brackets.

Another angle of the engine. I scratch built the accel coil.

Side shoot shows the wheels & tires from the AMT 70 Motion Camaro.
